The JCDS Summer Day camp program is an action-packed week of fun activities, indoor and outdoor games, swimming, arts and crafts, and more! Campers will be divided into cabins by age and will be led by the energetic JCDS Camp Staff. Campers will also engage in special projects and games based on the weekly theme.Registration Begins March 11
Welcome to the world of dance! This camp introduces dancers to the basics of ballet and jazz dance in fun camp environment. Campers will learn about proper posture, foot positioning, and basic ballet movements. Dancers should dress comfortably or wear tights and a leotard to class. Ballet or jazz shoes are mandatory for the children’s safety. Dancers will get a chance to show off their new moves during at studio showcase on Friday, June 14, at 1:45 p.m. JCDS Dance Manager, Lexie Bristol, will instruct this camp.Registration Begins March 11
Is your camper excited about starting their literary journey? Come get prepped and ready to head down the path towards the joys of reading. Our campers will get to explore many different authors through storytelling, acting books out and much more. Campers of all reading levels are welcome to join in. This camp will be led by JCDS 1st grade teacher Kate Krawiec.Registration Begins March 11
Hungry? Then come and create delicious looking art for everyone to feast their eyes upon! Campers will get to explore clay sculpting, printmaking, chalk pastels, and more while creating food themed projects. The art show will be held Monday, June 17, from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. in the Kelly Fine Arts Center. Art will be available for pick up on Tuesday, June 18. Ready to explore foods and cultures from around the world? Campers will cook a Latin American or Spanish dish in the morning and spend the afternoon practicing Spanish through games, singing, and puppet shows. Campers will get a small taste of Spanish immersion as well. This exciting and yummy camp will be led by JCDS Spanish Specialist Iliana Leonard.Registration Begins March 11
Come explore your creative side though everyone’s favorite recycled material: cardboard! Campers will create their own world full of costumes, buildings, games, and props from cardboard. This larger-than-life camp will help campers combine both creative and engineering skills to bring their stories and ideas to life. This camp will be led by JCDS Technology Specialist Cristina Knodel.Registration Begins March 11
Ready to explore the world of photography? Come join us for a fun filled week where campers will explore both traditional and modern styles of photography, and learn how to artistically capture a variety of mediums and subjects. If possible, students should bring a camera (iPad is OK) with them for this program. This camp will be led by JCDS Early learning Art Specialist Abbey Matthews.Registration Begins March 11
